Starter Stix is the perfect introduction to lacrosse for boys and girls ages 4–10 who are ready to learn the game in a fun, welcoming, and low-pressure environment.

Designed specifically for new and beginner players, Starter Stix introduces athletes to the basic fundamentals of lacrosse through age-appropriate instruction, games, and activities. No previous lacrosse experience is required, and all equipment is provided.

Starter Stix programs are offered throughout the year at various locations. Upcoming sessions and registration information will be posted online as new programs become available.

Players are welcome to register for one session or attend all four. Each session is designed to provide a fun introduction to the game while continuing to build fundamental skills for returning participants.

What Will Players Learn?

Starter Stix focuses on the foundational skills needed to begin playing lacrosse, including:

Holding and controlling a lacrosse stick
Scooping ground balls
Passing and catching
Shooting
Basic movement and game concepts
Fun games and activities designed to build confidence

Our goal is simple: create a positive first experience with lacrosse and help young athletes develop an excitement for playing the game.

What Should Players Bring?

All lacrosse equipment, including sticks and balls, will be provided.

Athletes should bring:

Athletic clothing
Running or athletic shoes
Water

Players who already have their own lacrosse stick are welcome to bring it, but owning equipment is not required to participate.

Registration

Advance online registration is encouraged, but walk-up registration will also be accepted.
