Samantha Sopko brings a wealth of experience as a player and coach. She started playing lacrosse in middle school at Seneca Middle School and continued to play in high school as a midfielder for Sachem North High School, on Long Island, New York. After earning her teaching degree, Sopko started coaching middle school lacrosse at the Sachem Middle Schools. Sopko coached for three years at the middle school level prior to moving to North Carolina. She coached a local all-girls competitive lacrosse travel program the last two seasons before coming over to team 91 Carolina. Samantha Sopko is from a lacrosse family; her husband is the team 91 Carolina 2024s boys coach and 2023 91 national coach and her sister-in-law, Emily Sopko will be coaching the 2027s girls team alongside her this upcoming season. Sopko lives in Holly Springs and she is a Healthful Living teacher at Alston Ridge Middle School as well as the school’s cheerleading coach.
